Everyone is going to Dubai for the show off. This shows the underlining selfishness and waywardness that has eaten into our value system and social fabric in Nigeria. We stand and point accusing fingers at the way our money is being spent by Government officials yet we have the animal boldness to lavish foreign currency on Birthdays, weddings, anniversary , 10 year old birthdays in another country and promoting their economy. I could never imagine the level of our ignorance could be worse. This is the same Dubai where Nigerians are being used as slaves everyday because of the search for a better life, the same Dubai we have heard of Nigerian girls being raped by so called Agents who want to give them jobs and the same Dubai where Ace broadcaster, Aisha Falodes son Oloruntoba Oluwadamilola was killed by an irate Arab on the 15th of Feb 2014. I guess the issues do not concern us. So lets go ahead and make a fool of ourselves by enriching other countries because we want people to know we have arrived while the graduates just down the street where we grew up just died in a stampede while looking for a job (food). I guess all that we hold dear and in what ever we believe in (God, gods, elements, tradition etc) are proud of our actions.
