Everyone is talking about how bad this Aaliyah movie is. I dont think most people ever seen a lifetime movie. My thing its A LIFETIME MOVIE its like watching an after school special lol. You never see Major Actors imitating celebrities on lifetime lol. Plus its free You didnt have to pay for a ticket and it wasnt produced as a Major box office film. Most Lifetime movies focus on the story and the life not the entertainment or graphics. I feel bad that people are bashing the first film about her life. The question we should be asking is why Aaliyah and Whitney Houston stories are not produced by major films and are only aired on networks such as Lifetime? Next...the movie was produced by Wendy Williams? Im not a hater or fan but most ppl dont realize she was the first Navy Grace, she was a radio personality that exploited R.Kelly about statutory rape with a 12 year old and other young girls including Aaliyah. This film is solely focusing on that topic. As an aspiring Producer and Director I am so thankful for people like Kevin Hart for putting African Americans Actors in films. We dont get the same opportunities even to this day for telling our stories, being in movies respectively, equipped with the financial resources or stage to perform as others. I feel like if you cant put your money behind to support a project and have the right connections to be placed on mainstream after the finish project. I dont think you truly understand the struggle and why negatively towards your community is the main reason we are our own downfall at times. We should be less shallow as individuals and more Devine and in sync as a whole~
