Everyone knows marijuana is going to be legal nationwide sooner or later. The sooner it happens the sooner the jobs can start employing people, the drunk driving fatalities can drop, the tax coffers can flow with revenue, the economy can surge, farmers can make piles of money, needless arrests that will end in chaotic court cases when the legal status changes can be avoided along with their resulting legal costs, embarassingly disproportionate numbers of African Americans and Latinos can have their freedom and voting rights restored, veterans who served their country can get the relief they need for PTSD, and a Stalinesque number of people who would never hurt anyone else can leave the prison system and get back to work. Might as well just go ahead and do it, right?
