Everyone knows that I do disagree with the government on political issues. But in terms of strategic development issues, I do not hesitate to give credit to who deserves it. I believe in vision. Yes. I believe that history is made and remade by men who saw the future. Imoke saw the future at the prime of his youth. He lived his dreams. Imoke remains one of Nigerias visionaries, a leader of leaders who in my assessment can be described as the best governor of our time. The Bible says, The people rejoice when the righteous are in power. It takes Gods intervention for a leader like Imoke to emerge with a pragmatic vision that helped to manage an economy in deficit. Yes. Only a man who is enveloped with the fear of God will inherit a dead economy at the brink of collapse and still transform it into Nigerias fastest growing economy, attracting foreign investors, distributing happiness and igniting hope in Cross Riverians. Students of global political economy understand that we inhabit a 21st century globalizing world where the nation state has retreated in its traditional responsibility and visionaries like Imoke are fast to recognize these transformations. Which is why despite receiving the least federal allocation in Southern Nigeria, Cross River State still ranks higher in the human development index, a composite of life expectancy, education, and income. Im presently doing a review of the human development index in the Niger Delta as part of a project am working on and its amazing how much progress weve made under Imokes dispensation. If youre proficient in the use of STATA statistical software and have access to the Demographic Health Survey database, I challenge you to do a proper scientific inquiry into our development - both rural and urban. We cannot criticize the government based on political philosophy because the empirical evidence of Imokes pragmatic economic program is pointing to a positive conclusion that Cross River has outperformed all South South states in key development sectors. Lets support Imoke and draw his attention to areas that need improvement.
