Everyone knows there are microbial communities that live peacefully, even beneficially, on our skin, and throughout our digestive tracts, from mouth to outgoing orifices. But now there is growing awareness of a similar microbial community that lives in our lungs, called the lung microbiome. It turns out a healthy lung microbiome might be very important for helping stave off diseases that affect the lungs. Science is so cool.
