Everyone meet Joe Cocker!! Joe is a black and white Parti Cocker that was rescued by Heart To Heart Rescue out of a high kill shelter in Arkansas. He is 3 years old. Joe was born 7/10/11. His release date stamp from the shelter was 7/9/14. Happy 3rd birthday Joe!! Joe came to me July 13. When I saw him I felt bad. Poor guy was skin and bones. I knew I could fatten him up with no problem. When we got home, I reviewed his paperwork. Joe is heartworm positive and will be undergoing his treatment soon. My first number one priority was to get weight on Joe so he could handle his upcoming treatments to make him 100%. Joes personality is really laid back. He would be great with children, other dogs and cats. Just an FYI..... When I test my fosters with a cat, I go to my neighbors home and allow the dog to run loose. It is not just having the dog look at a cat to see if they react. They are allowed to sniff each other and that is usually when we see if the dog is indifferent or focused on a chase. Joe has been around children and plays nicely. I have placed my hand in his food dish, pulled the dish away, taken a toy, and NO aggression. Joe is medium/medlarge in size. His ideal weight will be 23-26 lbs. Joe is 100% potty trained. He knows sit, stay, outside, and ride. Joe is not a barker. However, he does scream, holler, howl, and barks when in a crate while I run errands. I am currently working on this and he is showing great improvement. Now he howls every once in a while but not often.
