Everyone who knows my take on beauty knows that Im totally a champion for gray hair, laugh lines, and whatever other way a life + stories emerge on your body. There is beauty in the journey that gave you those stretch marks or crows feet. I am also a champion for doing whatever you want to do to your own body to feel more at home in your spirit + body container. I think every human (women, especially) has the right and privilege to age however it feels most true to her. For me, other than a diet rich in plenty of live, nutrient-rich foods, lots of fresh air and body movement, and a life fueled by a grateful and engaged heart, I feel no inclination towards anything that promises to make me look younger (because I just close my eyes and Im still 17. Hallelujah.) All that being said, I have grown weary of being told i look tired (Ive told you before.) Sometimes - especially when Im traveling and teaching - I just flat out look like crap and its all in my eyes. Sometimes its because I AM TIRED. Sometimes its a combination of things and I actually feel great in spite of appearances!! The salt in the foods, the recycled hotel air, the lack of sufficient amounts of water and sleep and Im wandering around looking like Buffalo Bill hung his saddle bags under my eyes. But first he covered them with wrinkly toad skin (which I hate even more than the bags). I. Am. Not. A. Fan. (Individual words mean extra emphasis, right?) Anyway, Im doing little summersaults inside because God said on the 8th day, I will make Instantly Ageless™ cream that will wipe the bags out from under your eyes for the whole, dang day. And it was good. Please stop me if I spew my praises of this magic cream all over your apron. Im just that in love and I was even more skeptical before I tried it than I am in love with it now that I HAVE tried it. Im actually surprised at how much I love it considering Im not really a connoisseur of beauty products. (What? You noticed?)
