Everything in this book is true, it is not the whole truth. But it is all true. - Daman Singh I first met Daman about three years ago, late one night. We decided that the meeting would be at Amans place. I must say I was a little nervous about meeting her- given who she is. I didnt know what to expect. But it was unbelievable to see how easy that meeting turned out to be. One that I will always cherish. We spoke for hours, about a lot of things- family, books, travels, and of course politics. And I noticed something about her- how keenly she listened, and how keenly she spoke. Every word that she said, was said with utmost sincerity. It was measured and she spoke truthfully of only what she knew with surety and what she believed in. Since then, in each of our meetings I have felt the warmth of these truths she carries with her. I admire her for it. Her latest book, she has confessed, has been the toughest she has written - It is her attempt to understand her parents.
