Everything we do has impact on those who share in our lives. While - TopicsExpress

Everything we do has impact on those who share in our lives. While I was out in the 100 degree temps doing what I love, Jessica Junak was in her office in Boston, wishing she could be along side of us for the adventure. Social media (Facebook, obviously) often paints a rosy picture of the world. We post at our best and post our epic adventures. Many of you followed along with the Badwater 135 updates for the last two days, seemed pretty awesome, right? It was, but in order for me to be here, someone has to sacrifice. Its an easy word to throw around, but Miles to Go Endurance would simply not exist without Jess to support me and, quite frankly, our family. Without her, Id be living in a van, down by the river. This week, she landed TWO MASSIVE projects at work, plus working on her dissertation AND unpacking our new apartment (which she moved to because of the stress living in Boston was causing me) while taking care of Mollie, going for runs and still texting and asking how the race is going. She gives of herself constantly, including working inside of an office, supporting us financially, and giving her time when I have to take client calls or work late in the evening. While I sometimes struggle to figure out the next steps to take with coaching, she continues to plug along in the background. She is nice when its necessary and firm and unwavering when I need a good kick in the ass (which is, quite often). I could say a million things, but Im beyond lucky to have the chance to marry this woman in December. The other day, my Grandmother (Dads father) told her that we remind her of my Mom and Dad. That compliment couldnt be any better. While many people compare me to my dad, to compare Jess to my mom shows the incredible love and compassion that both of those ladies bring into this world and that I selfishly get to experience on a daily basis. I love you, Jess. Thanks for all that you do. Luckily Ive got the selfie down so that we can have all of these fun photos on our adventures. I cant wait to build our Tiny House and continue to explore the world together.
