Evidence emerges of fishing of three juvenile whale sharks off Sri Lanka...video showing the small juvenile sharks, only 2m in length, still twitching and flexing their gills trying to gain oxygen on the dockside. We know hardly anything about the movements of whale sharks smaller than 3m in size....this evidence of fishing means that Sri Lanka has small whale sharks living within or passing through their waters. These small whale sharks would be incredibly valuable to the Sri Lankan tourism industry and are worth far far far more alive that dead.
