Evidence of crime in Mariupol has been presented to the foreign diplomatic corps in the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Pursuant to the instruction of the President of Ukraine, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration V. Chaly, Head of the Security Service of Ukraine V. Nalyvaichenko and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine P. Klimkin have held a meeting with ambassadors of foreign countries accredited in Ukraine, at which the results of the investigation of the Security Service and an irrefutable evidence base of crime in Mariupol, classified as crime against humanity, have been presented. Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration V. Chaly has informed on current situation in the East of Ukraine. He has drawn attention to the details of Mariupol tragedy of January 24, when 30 civilians were killed and 94 civilians, including children, were wounded as a result of the missile shelling. The shelling of Mariupol is a shocking terrorist act, the same as the shelling of the bus near Volnovakha and the trolleybus in Donetsk, as well as the elimination of the MH-17 aircraft. Humiliation and tortures of Ukrainian warriors by the so-called DPR violate all civilized rules of treatment of war prisoners. These actions have put DPR in line with ISIL terrorists, who killed Japanese citizen yesterday, Valeriy Chaly said. He has expressed condolences over this tragedy to Ambassador of Japan in Ukraine Shigeki Sumi, who has been present at the meeting. Valeriy Chaly has praised the statements of President of the European Council Donald Tusk, U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and other partners of Ukraine who condemn the actions of terrorists. We also highly appreciate the statement of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission, which confirmed that Mariupol had been shelled from the territory controlled by DPR, he noted. If Minsk agreements were observed by pro-Russian terrorists and Russia, the tragedy of the past week would have never happened, as stated by V. Chaly. In his turn, Head of the Security Service of Ukraine V. Nalyvaichenko and SSU representatives have submitted the details of the tragedy, the chain of events, video evidence, intelligence data, intercepted radio and telephone conversations of individuals who had been directly involved in planning, organizing and conducting missile attacks on the eastern district of Mariupol. Also, the video of testimony of one of the perpetrators of the given crime has been shown. All these materials directly prove that the heavy armament and its personnel involved in the shelling of Mariupol belong to the Russian Federation. The Foreign Minister of Ukraine has emphasized that the given crime should be first of all treated in moral aspect and classified as crime against humanity. Addressing the diplomats, P. Klimkin has noted: The perpetrators of this dreadful crime must be brought before the International Criminal Court in The Hague. We count on your support. He has also called for the recognition of DPR and LPR as terrorist organizations. The Minister has also presented Ukraines steps in the international arena aimed at peaceful resolution of the situation in the Donbas. Ukraine still insists that there is only a political solution to the conflict based on the Minsk agreements and the Minsk protocol, which have been signed by Russia as well. Russia must be inside the process, it must be a part of solution to the problem, he said. On the other hand, we are willing to expand the format of negotiations and involve the United States. We also hope that the work of the Trilateral Contact Group would be continued, for it is important for exchanging the war prisoners, he noted. Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration V. Chaly, Head of the Security Service of Ukraine V. Nalyvaichenko and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine P. Klimkin have agreed to maintain constant dialogue with foreign diplomats in order to coordinate future efforts and properly inform the international community on the developments in the Donbas. president.gov.ua/en/news/32118.html
