Ex-Gov Alao Akala Attacked, Driver Killed One of the drivers of the immediate past governor simply identified as Alhaji Ajikobi Alabi was this afternoon shot dead in Ibadan. Alhaji Alabi was shot dead by suspected robbers around Bodija area of Ibadan while returning from the bank, where he had gone to cash some unspecified amount of money The deceased who hails from Ilorin Kwara state is the personal driver of the wife of the former governor, oluwakemi Alao Akala.Late Alabi insiders told us was more than a driver to the family as he was Kemi Akala personal driver while she was still working in a bank over 10years ago. A close source from the ex governor’s camp said ” Oga nearly fainted when he was told that Alhaji Alabi has been shot by robbers Mrs Olabisi Clet-Ilobanafor, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, who confirmed the incident, said that the deceased was shot and killed on his way from the bank. “It is true. We learnt that he went to a bank to collect some money. A man stopped him and had some discussion with him on his way back. “Later, two men on a bike shot him and collected the money away” The late driver who just handed over his daughter’s hand in marriage a week ago,will be buried tomorrow according to Islamic rites.
