Ex-TROPICAL CYCLONE GILLIAN is expected to move further westwards, passing to the north of Nhulunbuy during Sunday, then continue moving west off the north coast of the Top End. There is a risk it may reintensify into a cyclone. GALES with gusts to 110 kilometres per hour may develop between Cape Shield and Elcho Island, including Nhulunbuy overnight or on Sunday morning if the low redevelops into a cyclone. GALES may gradually extend west to Maningrida on Sunday, then Cape Don on Monday. Tides will be HIGHER THAN NORMAL between Cape Shield and Nhulunbuy. Large waves may produce MINOR FLOODING of low-lying coastal areas. HEAVY RAIN may lead to flash flooding in coastal areas of northeast Arnhem Land Sunday morning, extending west across the north coast later on Sunday and into Monday. The Territory Controller advises residents from Elcho Island to Cape Shield that now is the time to make final preparations to your home shelter. Communities under Watch are advised that now is the time to put together your emergency kit, clear your yards and balconies, and commence home shelter preparations. Name: Ex-Tropical Cyclone Gillian
