Ex-ghana Coach Le Roy Backs Zambia To Beat Black Stars To Reach World Cup Playoffs Ex-Ghana coach Claude Le Roy has tipped Zambia to qualify to the final qualifying round of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers at the expense of Ghana, insisting the Chipolopolo will beat the Black Stars in Kumasi. Le Roy’s protégée Renard Herve is in-charge of the 2012 African champions and was his assistant coach when was Black Stars head coach. The Chipolopolo travel to Kumasi to play the Black Stars on 6 September at the Baba Yara Stadium for the crucial qualifier. Zambia need to win to topple the two-time World Cup finalists at the top of the Group D table. Ghana, who lie on top of the pool with a one point advantage, will go through to the third phase of the African qualifiers with a draw. “Ghana have to draw at home and qualify for the next round and Zambia have to win but I think psychologically it is more difficult for Ghana than Zambia,” Le Roy said. “I spoke to Herve Renard , they have everything to win in this game but it is also important for Ghana who wants to make a third appearance at the tournament after playing at the 2006 and 2010 World Cups. “Ghana wants to be in Brazil to show that they are indeed the Black Stars but I think it will be difficult.” Ghana lost 1-0 in the corresponding fixture played last June in Ndola.
