Exactly one week ago today I had my gastric bypass revision surgery, its been 7 days and I am still utterly amazed how great I feel, there some minor pain issues from the surgery but nothing out of the norm. Im so excited that I have been able to gain a 2nd chance to get back on my weight loss journey. It has been many years to get to this point, Ive realized the pitfalls and weaknesses that can knock me off my path but Im determined to get back on each and every time I do. It took me to stumble some in order to realize what could happen if I dont remain accountable to myself. While I know this is a journey that I primarily have to take myself, there have been many people along the way that have helped me see more clearly where Im going. Dr. Basseri, Dr. Khalili, Dr. Nishi, along with all the Khalili Bariatric Center staff, nurses, counselors and administrators have been spectacular in helping me achieve the most significant weight loss Ive had in my entire life. Also helping me regain so many aspects of my health that makes living so much more wonderful. Every single patient who has participated in the support groups also deserves a acknowledgement, for showing me Im not traveling this path alone. And while sometimes Ill stumble and fall, they have always given me the strength to get up and keep going. Lastly, I cant imagine ever attempting doing this major life change alone. Having my companion, partner, friend and lover there besides me has made it all worthwhile, Hym I cant wait to get back to living OUR lives again, thanks for putting up with me, being my conscience when it was needed, and a shoulder to lean on when I was weak. I always thought happiness was fleeting, and not very permanent, but I found that the past 10 years have changed my perspective on that. Thank you isnt enough to say but it comes from a most sincere place in my heart.
