Example points to the more general idea that having a person interact with or see symbols related to how you want them (or they want themselves) to feel or act does help to promote that feeling or action to an extent. I can imagine the mountain of scientific papers that describe the same truth but with different symbols and contexts. *yawn* Our subconscious minds are much more fluent in semiotics than English and get more meaning out of English as it becomes symbol/metaphor/simile-heavy. Feed yourself signs and it sets yourself up to embody them, materializing the immaterial.
