Excellence is excellence, whatever the endeavor. The life skills that one develops from collaborating in athletics or the arts are foundational to a successful society. Catty, condescending, and destructive nonsense spewed by someone like Jim Rome is the antithesis of what is needed for our society to thrive and Ill go so far as to say it is among the greatest risks to its future. Its a shame that someone with a national platform would be so careless and unabashedly ignorant in making derogatory statements about college marching band students.
