Excellent article by Chris Herrod on SB54 Recently, Kirk Jowers, director of the Hinckley Institute of Politics at the University of Utah, published an op-ed expressing concern about the Utah Republican Party’s intent to challenged SB54. Mr. Jowers claimed that such an action is an act of bad faith. Since when did it become bad faith for anyone to defend their constitutional rights? Bad faith is calling something a compromise when the political party whose rights were violated was not involved in the discussion. The process of the SB54 compromise was a lot like two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. It’s great if you’re the wolves, but from the sheep’s perspective I’d hardly call it an honest compromise. sltrib/opinion/1904149-155/op-ed-count-my-vote-compromise-was
