The ECHR reported earlier on Tuesday that it had turned down a request by Russian authorities on referring a July judgment awarding compensation of 1.866 billion euro to former Yukos shareholders to the Grand Chamber and revising it. The ECHR obliged Russia on July 31 to pay 1.866 billion euro plus 300,000 euro in compensation for legal costs to former Yukos shareholders. The Russian Justice Ministry reported on October 29 that it had forwarded an appeal to this decision to the ECHR on October 29, arguing that the conclusions made in it were unfounded.
