Excellent ride today although yesterdays rain meant the course was covered in debris in places and we, in common with a lot of others, picked up a raft of punctures; Cameron 3, Stotty 2, and Chris 1. Denis and I played Good Samaritan to some stranded ladies with all the kit but not a clue what to do! The Nelly, as this ride is known, is one of the friendliest sportives that you can ride and the finish area is really chilled- hot food and beer and cider at £2 per pint! We took the 50 mile option. We set a Fat Blokes record with 12 starters, Denis Bayle, Dan Tonge, Donald Gordon Mackenzie, 2 x Tim Gault, Naomi Tonge, Patrick Vaughan, Rocky Karen Rogers, Graham Hillier, Chris Stott, guests Cameron Stott, Chris Hillier and myself, and everybody nailed it.
