Excellent rides by Cory West this weekend at Sonoma. Not without issues, but that is what racing is about. In the Formula Pacific round, Cory ran his way up from the back of the pack to finish 3rd, which was great. Cory had not ridden the EBR 1190 on the track prior to Saturday, and did a great job learning fast. In qualifying for Sundays race however, he had opted to not replace the front tire (small budget!), and fell pretty hard on a flying lap. So he had to start from well back again. About two laps into the Superbike shootout, his front master cylinder reservoir fell loose, hanging upside down by the hose (bolt not tightened in the rebuild frenzy after the crash), so he had to ride the rest of the race with more and more air getting mixed into the brake fluid, pumping up the brakes for every corner. So his lap times were several seconds off his best, but he brought home a 7th. Never give up at its best!
