Excerpt: For me it always begins and ends with “kung walang corrupt walang mahirap”. In one sentence this election slogan promised an end to poverty and corruption in our third world country. Which on it’s own was already beyond the grasp of any science fiction writer. There is poverty and corruption in first world countries. Yet enough voters in this country believed that this could be accomplished by somebody who has nothing on his resume except wining elections presumably because of his famous parents. His mother’s death made him a contender for President in 2010 and nothing else.
