Excerpt from Behind the Lies “That’s the last of it,” Natan says. “Let’s head out, I want to be at the dockside by first light. Captain Katz has assured us that he would have a working party ready to help us unload and store our gear.” The three men are quiet on the trip. Each involved in their own thoughts about the upcoming mission, would the two of them be returning. At 0500 the van pulls up to the entry gate of the navy base. “Identification, please,” asks one of the two sentries, while the other has his weapon pointed at them, matching the IDs to the faces, they are flagged through. They had been expecting this group by orders of Captain Katz. Yosef never had the occasion to visit any of the naval stations around Israel, this is a new experience for him. He is thinking, I’d rather work with the Mossad than be in the navy. “Go around to the third dock,” says Natan. “You will see the submarine there.” Seeing a submarine up close for the first time, looks menacing with its sleek black conning tower and long torpedo shaped hull. Yosef could never understand how men are able to live for weeks at a time totally submerged in water. Book is available from Amazon, Barnes and Noble and local bookstores. Book is published hardcover, softcover and ebook.
