Excerpt from Sarah Palin Out of Nowhere : Sarah Palin is not your ordinary politician. Her roots are an average woman who lived an average life in America, pursuing the American dream. She did not attend an Ivy League school, thinking she was better than anyone else, or abuse any elected or appointed position to exhort money from corporations or businesses. Sarah lived a humble and normal life as a wife and mother, who joined the PTA so she could be involved in improving her childrens education. She was elected to local government on the city council and as mayor of the fifth largest city in Alaska. She was appointed to chair the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, making $124,000 a year. Sarah fights for what she believes in, even if it adversely affects her career. She resigned from the Commission position due to ethical violations by the other chairmen on the Commission. Sarah never hesitated to expose fraud within businesses, Alaskan politics, and within the Republican Party. She ran against a governor with significant power in Alaska and defeated him based on her honesty and ethical background. Sarah is everything people would hope for in a politician - experienced, ethical, has the ability to connect with normal grassroots Americans, and the ability to lead by example. Sarah bleeds American pride in her own unique patriotic spirit, is willing to fight for what she believes is right, regardless of any and all obstacles lined up against her, and has the courage to place her own credibility and reputation on the line to battle for America and the American people. - Frank Aquila
