Excerpt from Whispers from Heaven Gone Gone, are the days when I wake up and the day is new. Gone are the days when I would listen for your little feet as they hit the floor to start the new day’s adventure. Gone are the days when you and I cuddle on a Sunday morning and tell each other how much we love each other. Gone are all the wonderful questions about life and the entire why questions of it. Gone too are those beautiful eyes I looked into and I could see all the answers to all my questions because they were right there in you. Gone are all my hopes and dreams of seeing you as a man, and seeing you as a father, and being someone’s best friend. Gone! forever are the times I will see you grow, or get new shoes, or see the latest rug rat movie or to taste the newest Gatorade. Gone are all the moments I will ever get to hold you when you cry because someone did a mean thing, or when you have fallen and just needed a hug. Gone forever is the sound of your voice when you call me mommy and gone forever is my life, as I once knew it. The life that was so full of you is gone. Gone forever is my baby, my boy, and my son. Gone forever is a piece of this mothers heart he took the day he died. Gone forever is the way I look at life. Gone forever is the way I feel about people, the way I think about God. And here to stay, is a mother who was blown out of her box where she lived and whose values have changed forever and here forever is a broken mom trying to piece herself back together and wondering whom this new person will be. Gone forever are the old and here forever making the new?
