During the great flourishing of Islam, it slowly spread throughout the Arab world before making its way to Europe. The great popularizer of the Hindu-Arabic number system in Europe was Leonardo of Pisa, a well-traveled mathematician whose 1202 publication Liber Abaci brought Europe out of the mathematical dark age of the Roman numeral Thx Yogendera Kumar Chauhan
