Excerpts from most recent TEFL Institute Yelp Reviews (includes FILTERED reviews): Updated - 10/24/2013 I wish I could give TEFL Institute 0 stars. Gema responded to my Better Business Bureau complaint by copying and pasting an email she had previously written. I made a counter response reiterating the fact the advisor TEFL employee lied to us and said our course fee is transferable/refundable. We would have NEVER made the purchase if we had known this wasnt true. TEFL simply responded with No refund will be issued. My boyfriend and I have tried several times to reach Gema with student services, as she has failed to discuss that we were lied to and cheated. She may be avoiding our calls, as she has not returned our messages or emails. Stay away from TEFL Institute or you could find yourself in a situation like ours. We are out $2200 and will not be granted the service we paid for or given a refund. Updated - 11/5/2013 I dont understand how this place is still in business. Im extremely frustrated about TEFL Institutes dishonest business practices (I have yet to receive a refund) and have been keeping tabs on TEFL Institute via Facebook. They wrote a post saying they have left their former accreditation company to join a North American company. Id never heard of called USTEFLAC. I went to the new accreditation sites website and discovered this alleged accreditation company has the same exact physical address as TEFL Institutes headquarters. You can find this information on the USTEFLAC website under the Contact tab. I took screen shots of the address listed on the website in case they try to cover up their tracks. Do not give this organization your money! 11/15/2013 ...There are SERIOUS concerns regarding this business. We are currently filing claims with the Consumer Fraud Division of the Illinois Attorney Generals office regarding teachers and students who are owed money by TEFL Institute. Please contact [email protected] if you are interested. 10/2/2013 The classes were boring, it didnt really teach me anything new. The service is extremely slow... Ive been having a problem with them for more than a year, they had around 3 coordinators that I had to explain my story all over again... The school never contacted me to talk about rescheduling my class... A complete mess! Now, more than a year later, I didnt attend the Grammar mini course, I dont want to do it online and the new coordinator told me I wont have my money back. Worst thing Ive ever done!...Im pissed because of this lack of commitment with the students. Worst client service ever
