Excerpts from treatise on INTEGRITY! ...In advanced democracy that we emulate, like America or Britain, anyone who has seized power by force of arms, violating the countrys constitution, cannot have moral courage to seek the highest office! No rational and civilized citizens of such countries will ever support a usurper to benefit from past wrongdoing, especially any unconstitutionally treasonable conduct against the state! But, in Nigeria, some hirelings without sense of records, consider the impunity of usurpation as hallmark of integrity! Meaning, a group of soldiers could arrogate to themselves aura of holiness and determine that an elected government was corrupt, whilst the usurpers were saintly, and morally right to rule forever! Is this integrity as defined by some pundits? Considering the chronicles of evil perpetrated from 1983-98, caused by the ambitious triumvirate, the level of corruption which they accused Shagari government of, was insignificant, compared to the magnitude of ills committed under the watch of successive usurpers! The ashes of ruins and corruption heaped up by the triumvirate are still smouldering in Nigeria! For instance, between Jan 1984 and August 1985, what public projects can anyone point to, despite two years budgetary expenditures? None that I know!! There may be! So, on what capital projects were the two years budgets expended? We should know or ask what national revenues were used for, notwithstanding the fact that the military pontiffs ruled then! And despite the continuous and globally advertised recovery of public funds looted by late Gen Abacha, running into billions of dollars and pounds, Pa Buhari allegedly claimed that Abacha never stole! He probably adjudged his triumvir (Abacha) as a saint who kept public funds in private accounts abroad for proper safe keeping! ISSUES, PURE ISSUES!
