Exchange visit of INSPIRE Project SP-174 funded by HEC-BC Dr. Farhat Jabeen, Associate Professor, Department of Zoology, Wildlife and Fisheries GC University Faisalabad visited the Newcastle University UK under exchange visit of INSPIRE Project SP-174 funded by HEC-BC ( from 20th February to 19th March, 2014) . During her visit she was involved in reviewing the progress, planning of future activities, discussions, future strategies for INSPIRE at Newcastle University and GCUF, sample processing and data analysis. During her visit she also participated in the INSPIRE Conference II on 28th February 2014 in University of Leicester UK organized by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and British Council (HEC-BC). This conference was organized for the feedback of two rounds of Strategic Partnerships which started in 2008 and 2010, respectively and are completed this year. In this conference around 90 delegates including officials of HEC-BC, senior management of the corporate sector and representatives from industry & academia of Pakistan and UK have participated. The objective of this conference was to learn about what has been achieved so far under the INSPIRE strategic partnerships. The aim of this event was to bring together INSPIRE project co-ordinators to participate in a best practice and lessons learnt event. The purpose of the conference was to showcase the impact of INSPIRE; to look at what has been achieved by partnerships and to share best practice and lessons from the programme. The event has also provided an opportunity for participants to discuss possible longer term collaboration and the sustainability of partnerships. This conference established a network of INSPIRE partners so that HEIs in both countries can build up connections and develop new partnerships with each other, find common areas of interest in research and education, identify common agendas, possible cooperation areas and develop mutually beneficial collaborative projects.
