Excited for April - truly the end of winter and the start of baseball. In addition, there are a few weeks in which we should all celebrate: National Volunteer Week is April 6 through 12. And April 12 is the second Annual Working for Worcester project day: as many as 1,000 volunteers (students!) from Worcester-based colleges spending the day on 20 strategic improvement projects. I am so so proud of the organization and coordination, and the VISION of Working for Worcester. National Libeary Week is April 13 through 19; the opportunity to bring attention to the importance of libraries in our communities. On the Tuesday I will serve as a celebrity reader to s bunch of first grade classes. That day also happens to be Jackie Robinson Day so I will weave baseball and human rights, and the dignity of Jackie, into my story telling and reading.
