Excitement for Under the Oaks Run is building! Runner registration and excitement for this event has surpassed our expectations! Last year (UTO 2013) was the first year that we included the Half Marathon event in our race. We had 125 runners participate in our Half event and 200+ in our 5K and 10K events. This year we made the decision to limit each event to 250 runners (750 total) which we felt was a realistic goal. On June 24, 2014, our Half Marathon SOLD OUT!! We sold out nearly 4 months before Race Day which is October 11, 2014!! This is GREAT NEWS for SSCS, Under the Oaks Run, and for our community. UTO is attracting runners from all over the country and bringing them to the Golden Isles for the race on Columbus Day Weekend. Word is spreading about what a great race we are offering to the “Running Community.” We opened up more spots for the Half Marathon and will now have nearly 350 runners for the Half Marathon event alone. We are also offering the 5K and 10K events which will bring nearly 500 additional runners.
