Exciting Salvage News From DANDELION. Recently, six gigantic millstones hewn over a hundred years ago in a West Yorkshire millstone grit quarry was unearthed from where they had been buried specifically to shore up the stoney trackway leading into the quarry. These fantastic, old millstones, splendid architectural antiques, were shaped by stonemasons for the Canadian timber mills, where they were used for pulping logs for the production of paper-pulp. DIMENSIONS: DAN 3035 - 57 inches diameter x 27 inches high: DAN 3036 - 54 inches diameter x 36 inches high: DAN 3037 - 58½ inches diameter x 38 inches high: DAN 3038 - 53 inches diameter x 26 inches high: DAN 3039 - 53 inches diameter x 27 inches high: DAN 3040 - 58 inches diameter x 33 inches high: These beautiful millstones had been left partially smooth with bands of attractive ‘roughly hewn’, stonemasons’ tooling taking up the remainders. They would make fantastic tables if set within a lawn or on a courtyard, or used as imposing architectural features outside offices, pubs or restaurants. : dandelionstonetroughs.co.uk
