Exciting news! The Wetlands Institute is part of a project team that was awarded a $1.28 million grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation Hurricane Sandy Coastal Resiliency Competitive Grants Program. The 2-year project will focus on beach restoration at Stone Harbor Point with the goals of increasing community resiliency and improving habitat for migratory and nesting birds. The project team is led by NJ Audubon and in addition to The Wetlands Institute includes Larry Niles Associates, Richard Stockton College Center for Coastal Research, Conserve Wildlife Foundation, NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife, and the Borough of Stone Harbor.
