Exciting news from Cackleberry farms! I went outside to feed Petunia, and when she saw me, she RAN to me!! My little piggy can run now!! She feels so much better, and she is totally bonded to me! I just love her. I went into the chicken pen to feed and water my girls, and guess what?! My new little silkie hen, Esther, had laid an egg!! Since she had recently been with a rooster, its possible that this egg is fertilized! I put it under Beulah, who was very happy to have something other than golf balls to sit on. I didnt think my day could get any better, but it did!!! I came back inside, and Sam made my day. Sam: Mom? My throat hurts and I think Im getting a cold. Me, the total hippy mom, excitedly: REALLY?! Ok!! Ill make you an oil concoction! (pause) Sam: Um....that doesnt sound very reassuring. I made him a blend of coconut oil, Thieves and peppermint, and applied it to his chest. I used it yesterday on Audrey, and she said it helped. Audrey was my assistant. She held the oils and we called her Nurse Ratched. (Audrey and I thought this was much funnier than Sam did.) When we were done applying oils to Sam, she wanted more on her, so we did. Jake got all excited and laid down on the bed and pulled his shirt up. Since hes not sick, I didnt put any therapeutic oils on him, but he got a drop of coconut oil, and that made him happy. Benji was next. Joey is the only one who didnt want some. And next was some oil for me. I chose motivation. Just as soon as they come out with one called laundry or mopping Im buying it in bulk. LOL
