Exciting news from Woodys sister: Update on Daniel Kloepper as of Tuesday (9/16). I got one of the best calls telling me AWESOME NEWS!!!! When my dad was there visiting Dan mouthed bye to him. The speech therapist saw it and wanted to see if Dan could make any sounds or say words so they plugged his trach hole. Dan can breathe on his own!!! He went into a coughing fit, after making a few sounds, but no words. So that was 3 things he was trying to do at once. This is huge! Then tonight when my mom was there they plugged him again and answered her queation by saying NO. The nurse, respiratory therapist and Colleen Read-Kloepper heard his first word. They all shared that special moment with happy tears. Each day Dan is doing something new. Even if its something small its something big for him. We are so proud of him!!!
