Exciting news has come out of last nights SWDRA meeting, with the SWDRA formally supporting Busselton Rifle Clubs application to hold an F Class prize shoot in 2015. A letter has been sent to WARA from the SWDRA notifying of this and it will be discussed at the next WARA council meeting to have it formally recognised as a WARA prize shoot in 2015. Keep the 16th/17th May free next year as we may be shooting the first ever F class prize meet in Australia! Also in good news, our application for additional benches for 1000yd benchrest competition has been green lighted by WARA and has been forwarded onto the Dept of Defence for a final ok. Support has been forwarded on from the officer currently overseeing the Coolilup range and from the Australian Delegate to the USA for the 1000yd BR postal competition between Australia and the USA. We are also meeting the local representative from the Dept of Sport and Recreation shortly to look at the current facilities and see if assistance can be provided for the construction of the new proposed facilities. Lastly, there has been a couple of extra dates approved for 600m sniper style service shoots. These are on 5th July, 30th August and 25th October. All shooters welcome to shoot however only designated sniper class service rifles will be eligible to win.
