Exclusive: The Emails That Got Kabimba Fired An exclusive source close to the Office of the President Special Division has leaked a dossier of allegedly hacked emails which are said to be the primary materials that were used to deceive President Michael Sata into firing Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba. The emails, which appear to come from faked accounts, show correspondence regarding mass corruption among Kabimba, George Chellah, Rajan Mahtani, Wilbur Simusa, Chola Kafwabululla of the Food Reserve Agency (FRA), as well as the Director General of the Office of the President Martin Mwanambale. Readers can download the full emails here and share freely with friends to decide for themselves. Among the emails there is a message purportedly from Kabimba to Finance Bank chairman Mahtani regarding a visit to South Africa to check in on an account #000157584255 at First National Bank where he was meant to receive a large payment from the banker. The email also makes reference to a specific delivery of oil trucks at the Indeni terminal on Monday 14 July 2014, which the source says is related to the corrupt deal that Mahtani allegedly helped Kabimba set up with Trafigura via his company, Midlands Energy. In one of the alleged emails, Mahtani bitterly complains that he had paid more for the 2011 PF campaign than GBM had contributed. Yesterday, the 18th of September, Mahtani’s lawyer John Sangwa published a full page advertisement in the Daily Nation (see below) that threatened Google, demanding that they turn over the personal data of the individual who created the email account “raj.mahtani.fin@gmail.” However it is virtually unprecedented for any email service to turn over user data to another private party. The emails also appear to be a broad attack against the cartel. Director of Public Prosecution Mutembo Nchito is also included, as one message shows that he was tasked to fix GBM and the Magistrate dealing with GBM’s cases. Female reporters and other girls have also been recruited for this mission, according to the correspondence. According to the source, the team backing Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda manufactured these emails in order to trick President Sata into firing Kabimba, by pointing to all his corruption deals taking place behind the president’s back. While although the emails appear fake, they may refer to real events, the source says, pointing to the position of Kabimba on the Trafigura deal, which Mahtani is also linked as the agent of the company. Given that the emails are so explicit in their details and created under unusual spellings of the account names, a common observer could see that they are not authentic – nevertheless, this served as sufficient evidence to President Sata to fire his longtime ally Kabimba. zambiareports/2014/09/19/exclusive-emails-got-kabimba-fired/
