Excuse me for a really long winded minute, but I just want to take - TopicsExpress

Excuse me for a really long winded minute, but I just want to take a moment to thank all the wonderful people who called, offered to help, stopped by to check on us, and posted kind words. My phone never stopped going off all day and people showed up to my house in droves! First off, Im really grateful for Odessa Fire & Rescue Protection District who promptly and swiftly put out the fire right as it was moving on from my tack and antiques and headed to engulf my hay equipment. Im thankful for Kim Kelley, who was the very first to call and offer up help and who listened patiently to me when I was rambling in shock and near hysterics. Chrissie Hathcoat Wadel, Nicole Alley, and Melody Horton Wyatt kindly offered to loan tack. Lindsey Ky Mathews-Willbanks offered storage space and cleanup assistance. I am super touched to have a great neighbor like Gordon Fristoe who drove over and checked on us. Grateful to Mike Pierce who committed himself to helping us rebuild our tack shed. Im especially thankful for Amy Whitehead, and Tim Krahenbuhl, who showed up with halters and lead ropes and helped us sift through the heap, futilely looking for anything salvageable. Unfortunately, there was not one single item in the entire building left, but they kept digging through the nasty muck for hours and hours anyway. I owe a lot to Teresa and Troy Erwin for bringing halters and lead ropes, but most especially for running to the store and buying Duncan a new bucket, brush, hoof pick, and comb in his signature lime green after seeing him break down sobbing over the loss of his tack when he got off the bus. I dont think I could ever repay Teresa for that! Im really thankful for all of my family who called and for my parents Kirby and Alinda Miller who drove out to check on us. They lost every last material thing they owned to a house fire 10 years ago and they provided a knowing comfort. But at the very, very top of the heap the most gratitude I could ever have here is to Mary Ellen and Elizabeth Rolfe. They ran out of their RV in states of undress to save the day. They woke my husband who was sick in bed and so out of it he would have never woken up on his own. They called 911 then ran with bucket after bucket of water until the fire dept arrived. If it had not been for them Im certain I would have lost everything, most importantly my husband. Ill owe you two forever!!!
