So, what is the story behind this powerful man? He was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. His father was a lawyer and his mother a teacher. He had an ordinary childhood, except he showed an early fascination for computers. While still in high school, he formed a programming group with two friends and then later in Harvard, he wrote a version of Basic, a computer programming language. This was the version later adopted for the first personal computer or PC. In 1977, when he was 20 years old, Bill Gated did something that changer his life forever…he left Harvard before graduating and founded Microsoft. This was the beginning of the most successful software company in history. Today, Microsoft controls 80 – 85% of all the software industry and it has more than 28.000 employees in 57 countries around the world. But what do we know about the person behind the image? How does he spend his free time? Who are the important people in his life? Bill Gates is particularly interested in biotechnology and he spends a lot of his free time reading about this topic.
