Exhaustion has set in!!! We just got confirmation that Hayden has the rhino virus A.K.A our nemesis. For those who dont know its like the common cold, but for Hayden its a little more challenging. He spiked a fever of 101.8 around 4 and now hes at 100.6. He looks so much better than he did this morning (Thanks for the prayers!) Jeff made the decision to let Hayden go down and get the biopsies. I wasnt too happy about it at first, but anesthesia would NOT let him go if they didnt think it was safe. I have to learn to let go a little!! LET IT GO....LET IT GO! Whos singing? We should know the results of the biopsies by the end of next week. Anatomically everything looked good which we pretty much knew that from his previous scopes. The ulcer that he had a while was no where to be seen which was a huge plus. So now all we can do is wait and see....... Is it next week yet? Just kidding! For those who asked the impendence probe (pH impedance) is a way to check for reflux. Hayden has had reflux since birth and has had a few of these studies before. Its been way over year since the last one so we wanted to see if his reflux was under control. Most patients have it in for 24-72 hours. Well Haydens didnt work out the way we intended. He only had it for 10 hours with feeds and then 10 hours without. Typically you should be on feeds the entire time. I expected to hear that they didnt catch anything. To my suprise he had several events. I will know the full details once the report is put together. It makes me sad that it hasnt gotten any better. Reflux hurts Ive only had it while I was pregnant and it was MISERABLE so I can only imagine how he feels. The worst part is that hes tried every reflux medicine and is maxed out on the dosage. So Im not sure what that means and hes not a canidate for the nissan fundoplication per CHOP motility at this time. So this is where I leave you guys tonight before I fall asleep typing. Thanks for being my backbone today. It truly meant a lot ♡ I felt like I deserved the crappy mom award for going to school, but I know at the end of the day this is for our family.
