Exodus 33:14 And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” I was reading a devotional this morning, and the author was recounting a time when her daughters Sunday school class asked for the Lords presence in their lesson. Afterwards, the girl asked if Jesus was real, questioning it because she hadnt physically seen him. And that made me think. Sure, we all know God is real. But does that truly hold as much weight in our lives as it should? I had a friend who was constantly struggling with sin, and every time they would fall again they would regret it nearly instantly. At one point, they said If God was here in the room it would be so much easier not to do so. What we all know but fail to let affect us the fact that He is real. He is present. He is in the room with us. Just because He is not in a physical form as He once was does not rid of the fact that He is there and always in the midst of us. I think that if we all realized this truth to its full extent we would be living our lives a lot differently. We would take the time to entertain His presence. We would be going to extra lengths to avoid the sins we often find ourselves giving in to. We would be working for Him in our lives and leading others to His truth. But the fact of the matter is this. He is here, and He is present. He knows our hearts and our thoughts, and He sees every move we make and every action we take. So why dont we start living like it? Jeremiah 23:23-24 “Am I only a God nearby,” declares the Lord, “and not a God far away? Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the Lord.“Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord. 1 Kings 8:27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain You, how much less this house which I have built!
