Exodus 4:1, 2 And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee. And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.We find Moses led by God to lead Israel out from the land of Egypt. We know the story, and often many preachers may feel like Moses when he was called by God. How did he feel? Like he was unable to lead and accomplish such a large task. In spite of the flaws Moses had, God was still able to use Moses.The thought is simple. God called Moses. Moses felt inadequate. God asked Moses a question, “What is that in thine hand?” Moses’ response was, “A rod”. God took Moses, and all that Moses had, a rod, and used it to elevate Moses to a position of leadership. What that tells me is that we don’t need much. If God calls, then He will use us as we are for His glory. We just need to be willing.
