Expect a slower internet experience next week as older networking hardware will be hit by the growth of the internet Some older kit has hit an upper memory limit in the number of routes it can use to despatch data around the world. In the last few days the number of possible routes breached that upper limit which might mean those routers start to struggle. The disruption could grow over the next few weeks as older hardware is identified, Any router that hits its upper memory limit could slow down, lose data or become unstable. Obviously no network operators are admitting they will have a problem as that would simply be a confession that they are running less capable hardware and are not on top of managing the maintenance of it. eBay, Comcast and Time-Warner are companies that are expected to struggle until their infrastructure is updated. Any networks installed by Secure Computer Services are unaffected by this issue.
