Expenditure observer visited Doda Reviewed election preparedness MOHD ILYAS BUTT DODA, MARCH 20. To review the Election preparedness in the forthcoming General Elections 2014 in Doda District, Mr. B.K Panday, Expenditure Observer appointed for monitoring the election expenses of political parties/ candidates, today convened a meeting of Nodal Officers and other Officers related to elections in Doda. District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Doda Mr. Mubarak Singh, Superintendent of Police Mr. M.S Chouhan, ADC Doda Mr. Imam Din, besides SDM Bhaderwah, Nodal Officers and other senior officers attended the meeting. While speaking on the occasion Mr. Panday, underlined the need to have close surveillance and effective monitoring / implementation of the guidelines of ECI to regulate expenditure made by the political parties in the coming General Elections. He said adequate deployment of paramilitary forces and police personnel should be made in sensitive areas to restrict movement of illegal cash/ liquor etc. He also stressed upon the coordination between various teams constituted for expenditure observance and directed them to maintain proper record, which will serve as an evidence . Earlier, DEO Doda Mr. Mubarak Singh gave a brief account of the District Election profile. He apprised the Observer that four assembly constituencies, two partly i.e 52-Inderwal and 55-Ramban and two fully i.e 53-Doda and 54 -Bhaderwah come under the jurisdiction of District Doda. He said that 327 polling stations will be established in the District which includes 242-sensitive and 86-normal polling stations. Regarding Elector to Population ratio, it was revealed that against a target of 57.64% , an EP ratio of 51.64 has been achieved. He further informed that the achieved PER and EPIC ratio in the District is 96.39 % and 95.56 % respectively.
