Experimental Sea Glass Treatments: I first selected 3 pieces - TopicsExpress

Experimental Sea Glass Treatments: I first selected 3 pieces of glass that appeared to be about the same color, thickness, and wear from being churned around in the ocean. I washed them all together for the same amount of time then set them on paper towels until completely dry. I also asked my partner if they looked like they had similar wear and he concurred with my assessment. The control piece is on the left, the middle sample was rubbed with a light coat of olive oil, and the right piece was painted with clear fingernail polish. Results: The olive oil gave the glass a slight shine and the pitting/wear was a little less visible. The fingernail polish definitely worked the best as far as making the piece look how it did when it was wet with seawater, gleaming in the sun, begging me to select it from the thousands of other surrounding pieces because it wanted to be free...free to roam the Earth! Im making it into a pendant.
