Experts are baffled by the drop in pre-holiday shopping. Meanwhile, hardly anyone I know still exchanges gifts with friends or family members, unless they are buying for kids. (Most of the folks I know who do rush out to these super sales say they are buying things for themselves.) Im not saying people shouldnt exchange gifts. I love being out somewhere, seeing something and buying it for someone for no reason whatsoever. But Im glad all that Christmas madness is behind me.
