Expired medicines sent as flood relief Centaur Hotel employees want stern punishment to guilty =>The employees at the Centaur Hotel here have demanded stern punishment against the person involved in Hotel Corporation of India (HCI) after the later dispatched a consignment of expired medicines for the flood torn employees of the hotel. According to the KNS correspondent, policestation Nishat has registered FIR against the incident having FIR number 94/2014 under section 420, 276 of RPC on December 6,2014. The copy of the FIR in possession of the KNS reads that the health officer Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Dr Rubeena has filed an application wherein she submitted that she received a complaint regarding the relief material which was sent by an NGO namely ‘Punjabi Khatri Samati (Rajya) Noida’’ through Chetan KAK,who as per the verbal autopsy of the employees of the said hotel is the vice president operations of Hotel Corporation of India (HCI). On the inspection of the same it was found expired and unhygienic and was confiscated. The employees at the hotel Centaur here while demanding stern punishment againstthe accused said that even the baby diapers and food was found expired and unhygienic. They said that in the midst of the floods when Kashmir was in the deep crises, the expired medicines being sent to the flood victims were widely condemned.They said that there were around 19 boxesin the consignment. While sixteen boxes consisted of blankets and other boxes contained medicines that were found to be expired. The medicines had been found manufactured in 1999 and had expired years ago. They alleged that the management of HCI wanted to eliminate the employees and family of the Centaur employees who werebadly hit by the devastating floods.
