Exploring Ethical Fashion In China For people who care about our world and those who live in it, ethical fashion is the way forward. Those of us with a conscience want our clothes, shoes, etc created by people working for a fair wage, in good working conditions. After the recent Bangladesh factory tragedy, (the latest in a long line of many) where hundreds of people lost their lives, I don’t think any of us can ignore where our fashion comes from any more! China’s fashion industry is one that often gets a lot of bad press for the way in which its workers are treated and whilst much of this is deserved, it is important to realise that there is an important ethical fashion movement taking place... In this short YouTube documentary, Crane TV travels to Laos and China to explore one such example of the ethical fashion movement in action, through KTC Limited, a manufacturing company whose policy is to provide great quality clothing via happy and well skilled workers. They aim to do this by providing great facilities for their employees. In KTC, education is paramount, so every effort is made to ensure employees are taught to read and write and given the best training. It also looks into the living and working conditions for many of KTC’s employees which are clearly of an exemplary standard. Sheniz Raif. youtube/watch?v=oA8c_MEbq5A
