Exposing the errors concerning Spiritual Utterances 1. 1 Corinthians 12:1 Don’t be ignorant. Be informed. 2. 1 Corinthians 12:2 Speaking to physical Israelites in a gentile state of mind. 3. 1 Corinthians 12:3 a. When speaking by the Spirit of God, no man can curse Christ. b. No man can testify of Christ’s Lordship except by the enabling of the Holy Spirit. 4. 1 Corinthians 12:4 a. A variety of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit. 5. 1 Corinthians 12:5 b. A variety of administrations or (ministry offices) but the same Christ. 6. 1 Corinthians 12:6 c. A variety of operations but the same Father, that is at work. 7. 1 Corinthians 12:7 d. The manifestations of the Spirit are given to every man, which includes women Israelites. e. Gifts are given to benefit us personally and the body of Christ as a whole. 8. 1 Corinthians 12:8-9 f. There are nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. g. All nine are supernatural in nature. 8. 1 Corinthians 12:27 h. All make up the body of Christ, but we are also members in particular. 8. 1 Corinthians 12:31 h. Desire spiritual gifts, and pursue the more excellent way. 9. 1 Corinthians 13:1 The Two Types of Spiritual Utterances Tongues of Men- the ministry gift of known languages of men on the earth, given supernaturally by the Holy Spirit to believers, for the purpose of edifying, exhorting and comforting members of the whole Church and to those that believe not. This ministry gift must always be followed by the gift of interpretation, by the one speaking in order for it to benefit those in the congregation who do not understand the language being spoken. This gift by itself is of no benefit to anyone when exercised without the gift of interpretation also given by the Holy Spirit. Tongues of Angels – the personal gift of praying in the Holy Spirit, is a language understood only by the Elohim, given by the Holy Spirit to a believer, for the purpose of; assisting the believer with praying the perfect will of the Father, in a certain situations, blessing and giving thanks to the Father, and for edifying the saint in their most holy faith. Referred too also in the Book of Jude, the twentieth verse. 10. 1 Corinthians 13:2-8 When you are not motivated by the love, you are making noise and causing confusion. To operate in any spiritual gifts being devoid of love, is vanity and error. Ephesians 4:1-3 11. 1 Corinthians 14:1-2 Follow after love, but still desire spiritual gifts. Especially prophesying. 12. 1 Corinthians 14:3 Prophesying speaks comfort, exhortation and edification to the congregation. 13. 1 Corinthians 14:4 When speaking in the language of angels we are speaking to God and edifying ourselves. 14. 1 Corinthians 14:5 It’s a greater work of the Spirit to be used by the Spirit to prophesy to the congregation than to speak in your angelic language to God, which edifies only you. Jude verse 20 All should desire the angelic gift of tongues, which builds you up in your most holy faith. 15. 1 Corinthians 14:6 Speaking to the congregation in one’s private Holy Spirit given angelic language does not edify anyone in the congregation. If anyone desires to speak to the congregation, it should be by revelation, knowledge, prophesying or by teaching which is in everyone’s native tongue or language. 16. 1 Corinthians 14:7-8 Even musical instruments have distinct sounds, which distinguish them from one another. 17. 1 Corinthians 14:9 Unless you utter words by your native tongue which everybody understands how shall it be known what you are saying. If you speak to the congregation in your angelic tongue you might as well be speaking into thin air. 18. 1 Corinthians 14:14-15 The person praying in their angelic tongue is praying in the Spirit but even their own understanding is unfruitful. What should I do then, I will pray with the Spirit and I will pray with the understanding also. I will sing with Spirit and I will sing with the understanding also. 19. 1 Corinthians 14:16 - 17 Verse sixteen gives us an excellent example of the error which takes place in congregations at times, by individuals who bless the Father out loud in their angelic prayer language, when others who are unlearned in the things of the Spirit are present. You are doing well by giving thanks to the Father, but the others hearing you are not being edified. Conclusion: 20. 1 Corinthians 14:18 - 19 Paul said I thank God, I speak in more angelic languages than you all. Yet in the church I would rather speak five words in my native tongue, that I might teach others something from the Bible then speak ten thousand words in my angelic tongue(s). Conclusion: 1 Corinthians 14:37-40 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. Let all things be done decently and in order.
