Express: To CAS Words & Music Facilitators: I have recently just watched an uploaded video recording of the event that happened weeks ago, since I did not give any thought about watching it, obviously that is the reason why my rant is late. First of all, Id like to point out that this school is a religious university, with an administration of religious authorities and clergies. The schools mission-vision statement is predominantly targeted towards building a gospel-oriented community, that being said, it also justifiably follows that the leaders are the preeminent advocates for Christian virtue and upright morality, in work with human empathy for the well-being of any forms of life itself. As the Catechism of the Catholic Church puts it, “Animals are God’s creatures. By their mere existence they bless Him and give Him glory. Thus men owe them kindness.” It is a trivial matter whether you agree/disagree that in this context it considers man as an animal, because we consider it so via evolutionary terms, also the Catholic church adopts the evolutionary theory as true. So much for that I think Ive made my first point clear, that Christian values take into account the well-being of animal life. Now, what is my concern here. The recent event that was held by the CAS department featured some terrible and appalling treatment towards geese(or ducks, correct me if Im wrong). What specifically happened there was I think clear enough for you as I suppose most of my audience here has attended the event. The reason it was considered atrocious is because of such improper way of treating these animals, they were treated insignificantly as if they could simply be toyed. Isnt it quite a disappointment that this supposedly religious school that promote welfare condones the very opposite in such a noticeable manner? You might be curious why I am not forwarding this directly to any of the Colleges services particularly for dealing with these kinds of matter. It is because I prefer for this one to be settled with the public audience aware, with them either knowingly or unknowingly laughing along carried by the joyous and festive atmosphere all the while this kind of atrocity is being displayed on stage, of such obvious visibility. I hope you understood my point quite well. CoEngg
